The World Resources Institute is seeking an Executive Director for the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the world's most widely used greenhouse gas accounting standards. Based in Washington, DC, this is a senior leadership role overseeing the global standard that underpins corporate climate action, national inventories, and climate policy.

The GHG Protocol establishes comprehensive frameworks for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions. Used by over 90% of Fortune 500 companies, it provides the accounting foundation for the Paris Agreement's transparency framework.

The Executive Director will lead the strategic direction and development of GHG Protocol standards, manage relationships with governments, businesses, and civil society, oversee a team of technical experts and researchers, represent the GHG Protocol at international forums including COP and G20 events, drive innovation in emissions measurement methodologies, and ensure the Protocol remains relevant in an evolving regulatory landscape.

Requirements: 15+ years of senior leadership experience in climate, sustainability, or related fields. Deep understanding of greenhouse gas accounting, climate policy, and corporate sustainability. Experience managing complex multi-stakeholder initiatives. Excellent public speaking and diplomatic skills. Advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
