Programme Officer — Response Subdivision, Adaptation Division
About This Opportunity
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat is recruiting a Programme Officer at the P-3 level for the Response Subdivision within the Adaptation Division, based in Bonn, Germany.
This role supports the implementation of climate adaptation response programs under the Paris Agreement and the UNFCCC. The Programme Officer will coordinate technical support for developing countries in formulating and implementing National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), manage knowledge-sharing platforms on climate adaptation best practices, prepare analytical reports and policy briefs for UNFCCC bodies and subsidiary bodies, liaise with Parties, observer organizations, and UN system entities on adaptation matters, support the organization of expert meetings and workshops, and contribute to the Adaptation Committee's work program.
Required qualifications: Advanced university degree in environmental science, climate change, international relations, or related field. Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in climate change adaptation. Experience working with international organizations or government agencies on climate policy. Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Spanish is desirable.
