COP31 Climate Fellowship 2026 (Fully Funded)
About This Opportunity
The Fully Funded COP31 Climate Fellowship 2026 is designed for young climate leaders from the Global South, preparing participants to influence climate policies at COP31 in Turkiye. Organized by Life of Pachamama, the program helps fellows join the 31st Conference of the Parties under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The summit focuses on verifying Paris Agreement compliance, establishing new climate funding mechanisms, and reviewing emission reduction strategies.
Phase 1: Virtual Training (May-June 2026) — Online instruction covering climate policy, diplomacy, policy analysis, climate justice concepts, and communication strategies with peer practice and immediate application.
Phase 2: International Advocacy at COP31 (November 9-20, 2026) — Fellows attend conference sessions, meet policymakers, advocate for their communities, and network with international leaders in Antalya, Turkiye.
Phase 3: Local Impact (Post-COP) — Participants implement community projects, share knowledge, and advance climate initiatives in their home regions.
The initiative centers marginalized voices from the Global South, provides direct participation in actual policy negotiations rather than observation-only access, removes financial barriers through full funding, supports sustainable community change through local project requirements, and facilitates lasting international professional connections.
Eligibility
Ages 15-30. Youth from the Global South — key countries include Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Indonesia, Ghana, Gabon, Uganda, and Tanzania. Priority demographics: Indigenous peoples, Afro-descendant communities, rural/agricultural populations, migrants and refugees, youth from disadvantaged areas, women, LGBTIQ+ individuals, and persons with disabilities. Required: Basic to intermediate English or Spanish proficiency. Demonstrated involvement in climate efforts, environmental initiatives, or community projects. Full availability for all program phases and willingness to launch local projects.
